Wednesday 9th September we went for a pic-nic in Chatelliers-Châteaumur park. We sat down on the lawn. To start with we had piémontaise salad, crisps and ham, for the dessert there was cheese and chocolate mousse and apples. Then we visited les Chatteliers-Châteaumur. It’s a little village, the population is about 696 inhabitants. In Châteaumur there is a castle from the 10th century. After that we went to les Chatelliers where there are not a lot of inhabitants, to go there we have to climb a big slope. We went to natural hills where we wrote about the history of les Chatelliers-Châteaumur. The archelogists think there was a fortress, the others think there was a tomb of a big lord. After we returned to Cherry’s.home
Seconde - Romane Coutolleau and Charly Baron
We started preparing our dinner at about 5 o’clock with Cherry, Shanice, Romane Laura and Orane. At first the 4 melons were cut in little balls by the students. Then we peeled pears to make a crumble. Romane measured ingredients to make caramel. Shanice cut pears while I peeled some of them and Laura put them in water added with lemon. When the caramel was ready Romane prepared the paste to finish the crumble. During this time Cherry was telling stories about the time when she was a teenager. Boys gathed English potatoes named Maripiper. We peeled them, cut and boiled them. Shanice and Orane cleaned up the kitchen and did the washing-up. We had a pleasant time in this family and it will be good memories to me.
Seconde - Orane Mars and Rémi JOUY
We arrived at Cherry and Drew’s home. To start we were welcomed by Cherry in the kitchen. Here we saw 2 beautiful cockatiels, one grey named Sam and one yellow named George. During the stay they sang a lot. In the middle of the room, there is a table made by Drew in wrought iron. We went upstairs to discover our bedrooms. On the left there was the boys’ bedroom with 3 beds for 4 boys and a lilac bathroom. On the right there were 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom for the girls. 4 girls went to one bedroom and the two other girls went to the second bedroom The bathroom for girls was great because it was blue, well equipped and very big. After settling down in the bedrooms we went to the living-room to speak about ourselves then we did English exercises. In the back of the room there is a coffee table made by Drew and surrounded by a red sofa. Before we visited the garden we saw the back kitchen and the study. The back kitchen is used to prepare the dinner, to wash the dishes and the clothes. In the study there is a computer, a tv set with English channels, a sofa and stairs to go to their bedroom. Before we arrived in the garden we had to go through the corridor, there are Drew’s motorbikes, a toilet and a cellar. In our opinion we think the garden is the best place because there are a lot of colours, it is very beautiful. In addition there are a lot of animals, vegetables and a lot of fruit trees.
Bac STAV première année - Charlène Hesnault and Fabrice Hardy
Yesterday at about 9.45 am, we made 4 exercises of reading and listening understanding. The exercise of discussion was very interesting because we discovered the others’opinion. The first exercise of reading comprehension was very easy. The second exercise of reading comprehension was very difficult because the structures of sentences are different in French and in English. The exercise of listening understanding was easy because it was the same text as in the first exercise of reading comprehension. Today Cherry woke us up at 7.45 am to feed animals (dogs, chickens, budgerigars, geese). At 8.15 am we went in the living-room to have breakfast. Cherry had prepared for us a table very well garnished. There were bowls on a large plate with next to it a large spoon, a knife, a spoon and glasses, a basket with 10 croissants and 10 “pains au chocolat” (chocolate buns), orange juice, nutella (chocolate spread,), cereals, jams (redcurrant, fig, plum), butter, bread, coffee and milk. We tasted everything Cherry offered us, it was good and we were hungry. When we had finished eating, we cleaned the table and put knives, forks and plates into the dishwasher, as well as the glasses and the serving dishes. And to finish we wiped the table. |
